Cubinet Interactive is proud to announce that the Perfect World English Edition (Closed Beta) will launch on the 28th of September 2007!
The Game Client is now available for download via BitTorrent.
In conjunction with Closed Beta and to help us better test the Client and Server, Cubinet will be holding a leveling competition.

7:30am , 28th September 2007 till 4am, 12th October 2007(+8GTM)

Notes: There are 18 major rewards (1st to 3rd place for each class, 6 classes) and an unlimited number of minor rewards of 3 million in game coin for each player that attains lv 49 or higher. Note that a player may receive one reward only, thus a recipient of a major reward may not also claim a minor reward. All rewards will be delivered to the account holder during Open Beta.

That's what was said. After the wipe, you start over with a blank/new character, and 3million in coins. 3mil at the start is still going to accelerate inflation drastically. >.x With that, fail to hit 49, and you will be a low-standing person who needs to spend real money to keep up.

No, We get 2 weeks of closed beta starting Thursday Evening, and then 1 week of downtime. In three weeks we will be playing the real deal.

I doubt constant teams would suffice to the cause, you need to constantly level with same-level people. But leveling alone in this game quickly slows a person down, the game seems to be heavily directed towards teamwork.

Initially, teams are automatically divided into 3, based on species. Until you are about 15-20, you should just stick with people your own species. After that you can start making more complicated parties.

No, Close Beta is the only expected wipe. The reward from this event you keep for the real deal. >.x

<.< Open Beta usually doesn't mean much except for "may still contain a few bugs". It's nearly the same as a final release. >.>

Gah. I don't want to play THAT much over the next 2 weeks. And if that's so, it'd be incredibly unbalanced for people who just find out about PW after and are too late and miss it.. I still think they wipe after Beta is done and the real thing begins. That happened for Maple Story and RO's open betas. FlyFF too, if I recall. x_X

EDIT: Never mind, I realized it'd be dumb for them to wipe the top 3 prizes. Gah, guess I hafta hardcore grind instead of playing Halo. Q_______Q

Considering what I've seen already, I seriously doubt that there will be another wipe after open beta. Open Beta will be long into production, when most people have spent a lot of money on their characters. Reviewing from the other servers, a second wipe is not in the schedule for a PWO server. In all technicality, after Close Beta IS the real thing. I've seen this done in a variety of games in the past, so I wouldn't doubt the validity.

It means they expect you to rush to 49, or find yourself without the millions you could have had. If you came late, then it is your own fault. If you don't make it to 49, then too bad too. The business is using this as a marketing tool, and giving it a value which could inspire a lot of activity. They won't diminish the value and go back on their word.

Yes, this is going to cause upper-status and inflation, I already said that. It was their choice though. Remember, they are closed beta for 2 weeks and then down for 1 week. That one week can be your pure Halo 3 experience, which also means it will take the time away which you can't play PWO, two birds-one stone.

In a last note, my main character is going to be a Human. I should be able to help a lot of people, but considering this I might spread out better after close beta ends. >.x
