After years of waiting and hearing all the rumors about who will play Tony Stark/Iron Man, even hearing that Leonardo "I'm a girlie boy" DiCaprio being signed to be Iron Man, we get this:
[yt:00894]mFlwtFx9Fgo[/yt:00894]
Anyways, we get Robert Downey Jr. looking like some coked out Tony Stark and a tin man that could be on the Wizard of Oz. I'm hoping this movie turns out to be better than it looks so far.
Now within all reason, Downey Jr. does closely resemble Tony Stark and the tinman does look just about exactly like the Iron Man but still something is not quite right about this whole thing for me.
All I can say is that honestly, this IS Iron Man.

shocked by 2 things:
- downey playing a role not smoking, drinking and/or using drugs
- your text isn't purple!

Yes I was surprised when I heard he was playing Iron Man too. I like Downey Jr. but not like this.
And the not having purple text was a color mistake.

Let me guess, you use named colors instead of hex colors. >.>

Wrong, I use hex colors. :geek: Let's just say I made this thread in the lazy way. I think some who are familiar with this might recognize what I did instantly.

Nope I didn't exactly forget just got lazy and said whatever it's no big deal. But that's due to the way I did it.
What tags are you referring to?

The first post did not have the bold tags closed. >.> You did that time though, so perhaps it was just a mistake. >.x

You said I never close my tags? I don't quite get that. But the bold tag was closed in my first post. And unclosed tags will reveal your coding. I usually will catch that stuff after having spent countless days and nights coding html and css layouts. But I admit I do sometimes miss details so I have my friend who's a certified programmer check over it for me.
Anyways, what do you think about Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark? Does anyone else know about this comic book series?

I thought Tony Stark was suppose to be tall and good looking

Nooo my secret has been revealed!
Back on topic.
I was really looking forward to Iron Man because it is on of the cartoons I grew up with. I just don't think that Robert Downey Jr. can pull it off. I have a feeling this will be another Fantastic Four instead of Spider-Man.

Ebil do you have to use the purple font too? I mean I claimed this font color first here.
On topic: Downey Jr. might prove to pull a rabbit from his hat like Tobey Maguire for Spider-man. I doubt it too. It's just that even from the trailer Downey is playing his same old style which I really like in most of his films where he's cracked out but not for this one.
If we are lucky they'll focus about half of the movie on Iron Man instead of Tony Stark. That'll probably annoy Harry over at Ain't it Cool News but that's the strokes. :geek:
As a matter of fact, I usually don't go read the reviews of pre-screens but I might check out Harry's and his crews' reviews on this one.

Yes I have to use the purple font or I will die.
Well from what I can remember about Iron Man there will be more Tony Stark then Iron Man. Much like the First Spider-Man, Hulk or Batman Begins movies. They need to show you the before Tony Stark, the after Tony Stark, and last his transformation into Iron Man unless they changed the story.

Ok so basically we're going to be seeing Downey Jr. as himself just about this whole picture. Great. :( :( Well........he might not be so bad. I might just watch this on dvd. :geek:

From the looks of it seems fairly on track. Maybe I was thrown off by ozzy tunes, BOOYAA! But yeah least it starts off with him building the big and crazy iron suit first. I prefer these films to just start off more about the person...least it's right that way...

Don't get me wrong. I prefer to have these movies start off focusing on who the man/woman behind the mask is. But when they get someone who I don't think fits the part then I want to see less of them. Downey might make an excellent Tony Stark so I can't say for sure now. I was one of the naysayers on Tobey Maguire as Spider-man. Now I can't see anyone but him playing Spidey. :P
The movie might turn out to be one of the good comic book hero movies but for me it's not looking that way. I'm just waiting on Batman: The Dark Knight, I think is the name of the next Batman movie. :geek:

Yeah that's the name of the next batman. I dunno, stark was just a playboy, drunken biatch so why not downey? Sounds like he would fit the role to me. Spiderman movies are a touchy subject for me...they where doing so well till number 3 :(
This teaser sucks. U know they are gonna make a sequel

The Spiderman 3 was better X-Men: The Last Stand. I liked Tony Stark there are plenty of drunken good looking actors that could have played him. I just wish they had picked one.

Damn! You'd think we didn't like Downey at all. But yeah for this movie I don't think he fits all that well either. I know Christian Bale is playing Batman but he would have been a good candidate to consider for this role too.
Sidenote: I have to say that out of all the actors who have played Batman, Christian Bale's young and dark version is the one who is more interesting than the villains. Most times Bruce Wayne/Batman is overshadowed by the strong villains that run through the Batman series. It's nice to really see Batman making his presence felt at all times!
