View Full Version : Perfect World Closed Beta
What do you think of it so far? For some this may be a totally new fresh start, and others it may be their second run after playing MY-CN or some other version. But there are things in it that are different from other versions. Discuss here, your thoughts and opinions of CB so far.
Well, I'm only at the login screen but the music at the login screen is so cute xD I love it. And my blue-eyed asian looks absolutely hot. Will post more when I get more experience.

I like it. The translations are better than the fan-made ones, and now most of the community speak english. No more Chinese names and guilds everywhere.
Character customization is absolute awesome. My mage is so cute.
Mana regeneration is awesomely fast. But I dislike the font :<

Why are they calling it "closed beta" when anyone can play?

I like it also. Annoying that everything is named different than chinese version, but so far (only lvl 10) the quests seem the same.

i played WoW for a while as well. so far, overall, the quests in perfect world are definitely not as fun. WoW has your typical boring quests but they do throw in some fun ones or at least some that try to be different (like beginner orc quest where you bop those lazy peons, or the indiana jones 'test of faith' quest, trampoline quest in BC, etc etc).
i am lvl 24 now and although i guess thats still early, so far every single quest in perfect world has been like this:
go kill 20 of this.
then 20 of that.
and then 20 of those.
repeat.
i know every mmorpg is like this. but for those that hop from one game to another, its kind of dull to basically be doing the same thing over and over when the whole reason you try another game is because its supposed to be different/better/whatever.
also, the targeting is this game is just silly!!! there is no keyboard shortcut to cycle targets. no shortcut to target nearest mob. i just went through my first lvl 19 dungeon/instance at wolf den. targeting mobs while other werefoxes with their pets out (especially the huge golems) running around was an absolute nightmare!!! i tried using the 'assist' action and that just ended up in me having to press like 3 things just to be able to attack one thing.
1) click on person you want to assist (either on screen or in party menu)
2) click 'assist' to actually target their target
3) click attack or keyboard shortcut to actually attack!
this method is so slow, and also compounded by the fact that there is always a SLIGHT delay whenever you target something and its definitely not a lag issue. i can jump around, walk, etc etc just fine. but whenever i target ANYTHING, it takes like a split second for it to actually register. so, sometimes i have to TRIPLE click something to even attack it. in WoW, you could just set up a simple macro where you automatically assist whoever you want and start attacking immediately. i have not tried making the assist easier using the 'combo' setups you can do though. but still, that target delay is really annoying!
