So, from the site, it says you tame them and ride them, is that true or do you just buy them, like most other games I've seen?

Not 100% sure, but yes I do believe that is true. There are some pets that are cash shop though. They are a little bit faster I guess.

you can't tame a mount, it must be purchased or earned.

Couldn't horses be bought for like 3million gold in game?

yes, you can buy horses from the pet trainer, you just can't tame a mount.

too bad Ive been taming every monster Ive come across from. I just end up selling the eggs since the actual monster sucks. But Ive been sticking with a bloody wolven hexen(maximise in damage, defence, speed, and hp) I believe itas the best pet for my lvl (16)

I bought the lvl 17 golem now. Its much better in my opinions tank and attack wise. The speed is even better. But its huge..

sitck to 1 pet (1 land, 1 air, 1 aquatic).. you won't regret it.. and i would suggest the grotto crystal base lvl 18 just outside fire grotto cave.. once leveled to 60+ it will normally hit around 2k..

on topic:

horses are around 2.5M in-game currency available shades are either red or black, shop mounts available afaik are the leopard and polar bear only difference aside from looks is that the cash shop mounts run faster +1.0m/s downside is you can;t join the horse race event..
