Screenies and Camtasia

Hey guys (specifically Tor)

Anybody can answer, but I think Tor has the answer if nobody else knows. Firstly, is there a way to take screenies inside PW? I haven't been able to find out how to.

Secondly, I downloaded Camtasia but I haven't installed it yet. Does it work with PW?

Yup it works with PW.

press the print screen button. The images should then be in your perfect world folder > elements > screenshots

F9 Is better, it lets you configure the camera before a screenshot.

there is another way in game to take screenie other than printscreen, it is alot better because it doesn't include chat bars, players status bar and all that stuff (unless u want that stuff)

I think you're talking about F9 msj.

Using Alt-H also has a useful effect when you want a proper view. You still don't get all the camera controls, but it still has it's value.

I got Camtasia the other day and tested it out. I wasn't very impressed Tor, the only real better thing is that Camtasia lets you continue past the 30-second mark, but it doesn't get the fluidity that I've seen with FRAPS.

Just for reference I was playing Snowboard Kids 2 on my N64 emulator, and Camtasia was rather laggy, whereas FRAPS was not. I'm still not all that sure that Camtasia's better than FRAPS, I suppose it is if I wanted to make long videos or something along those lines, but I find it better just to put clips from FRAPS together. After using Windows Movie Maker to make them smaller of course.

:o havent heard of camtasia before. Anyone can give feedback on it? like how it differs frm fraps, its features, etc. and yea, alt H removes the GUI so ur screen will be clean.

Camtasia's another recording program, it works similar to FRAPS, but in my opinion, not as well. You see with Camtasia you have to set-up and area to record only after opening Camtasia and the Camtasia recorder. You can also record your voice via a microphone and other video via input ports. (I.E. Digital camera into USB port)
Camtasia's only REAL advantage is that you can record past the 30 second mark, unlike FRAPS, but at a cost of lagginess (See my above example) This laginess also gets recorded, unfortunately. Camtasia also skips having to make the files smaller, and can immediately start editing it once its done (Rather than having to use Windows Movie Maker with FRAPS)
It's got a few other non-essential features that I didn't find very helpful or amusing. Speaking of help, you can only get help from YouTube for Camtasia. Also Camtasia keeps track of the days you have it, even for the free 30 day trial unlike FRAPS.
