You may ask why a mage type yao jing.. well first of all you will be tempted to you fox skills but please don't.. it will only make your life harder..

skills costs souls and ingame currency as well a sinister skill (lvl 59 attainable) costs around 150k soul and 100k yuan at lvl 1.. so use them wisely.. alos as a yao jing you are also condemned to use your soul points if you plan to upgrade your pets skills..

so here is a skill guide for all nuke type yao jings ( alos dubbed as the farmer class )

Stinging Swarm
- wood damage with a very fast (1 sec) cooldown.. your bread and butter until your 60's.. max this out
Scorching Swarm
-fire damage and additional fire damage over 30 seconds 15 sec cooldown
- leave this at lvl 1 why? the damage over time is won't be worth it since the mob is down in 3 spellcasts..
Glacial Swarm
-just leave this at lvl 1 until you cap your sinister.. basically a wasted skill because of the 1 chi cost..
Iron Crag Swarm
-wood damage and physical defense debuff (uses vigor)
-max this out.. this is essential for your pet combo cast this one first before your other nukes while your pet attacks..
Wall of Thorns
-basically a reflect buff. Max this out since at lvl 10 you will be reflecting 60% of physical damage back to your attacker.. at lvl 10 you are qualified to get the sinister skill Barrier of Thorns.
Raiment of Flowers
-move speed buff effective for 5 mins. only has 3 lvls.. at lvl 3 you will be moving as fast as a lvl 1 mount..
Swimming Mastery
-racial skill enhance swim speed to 50% (passive)
Primal Swarm
-at lvl 60 onwards this will be replacing your stinging swarm..max this one too..
wood damage and more wood damage for 9 seconds.. AOE spell.. great for mobbing especially with Plague of Locusts..
Spawn of the Earth
- massive wood damage plus chance of stun effect .. this is my killer skill.. i use this often to finish off enemies.. at lvl 4 of this skill i can kill a mob at 25% hp left.. has a longer cooldown though...
Plague of Locusts
-your sinister skill.. massive wood damage plus paralysis and silence effect.. uses 2 chi..
Barrier of Thorns
- your defensive sinister skill.. Absorbs 50% of physical damage and reflect 200% back to your attacker.. for 15 seconds.. this will exhaust you wall of thorns buff.. uses 2 chi..
Now we get to the NECESSARY skills for both fox and mages:
Harmony- the best mage skill ever.. convert hp to mp or vice versa at a % rate..
If you have low Mp using harmony will switch your HP to MP and vice versa.. uses vigor.. can't be used without vigor.. 1 min cooldown
Vigor- this is not what i meant as with all the other vigors above .. the vigor i was talking earlier is the yellow bar near your avatar which fills up verytime you cast a non-vigor dependent skill.. i.e. stinging swarm.. Vigpr (the skill now) fills your HP by a set percentage .. 5 minute cooldown..
Sustenance - fills your MP by a set percentage.. 5 minute cooldown..

Thx for the tips. BTW I gotta agree, that fox form is just plain dumb. Not sure about it's usefulness in the higher lvls though.

the fox form yao jings are owning at pvp mainly because they can paralyze, stun, life steal, mana drain, and banish(removes all buffs and debuffs) an enemy.. downside is the rank rewards for the class are geared towards mages ..

You get them at certain npc's. It cost money and spirit points. You can them at certain lvls. Sometimes though you got to do Esteem quests.
