Well, normally I would play the game until I understood as much as I could, but with the wipe coming up, I guess its better to just ask them here and be informed when I start the OB. Hopefully this helps anyone else starting out as well.

Has there been a confirmed wipe from OB -> Full release?

Is the PK system (the level 30+ one, if I understand it correctly) color-named based like in other games? Ex. Player A attacks Player B, Player A turns #somecolor, Player B can now attack back, etc.

Is it wise to stray from your originally given weapon? I understand you lose the ability to use skills that have weapon limitations. Ex. Wing Elf Archer using a sword.

When an item says it adds "Physical Attack Damage" does it imply that it adds damage to ranged attacks as well? I haven't seen any items that add specifically ranged damage. Furthermore, on the character screen they defined clearly which stats add physical attack damage (STR) and ranged attack damage (AGI), which confused me even more.

I have seen a lot of implemented PvP options around, such as the arena, hints at battlegrounds, regular PK, guild battles, kingdom PvP, etc. Are there any websites that have information on this sort of topic? More specifically how are the guild PvP events drawn out?

I probably have a few more questions in the back of my head, to tired to think of them at the moment though. Thanks to whoever gives me some insight!

The apparent fact and intent is not not wipe at all from OB to FR. Unless something goes extensively corrupted, don't expect another wipe until PW-IN (CB) ends. Still be prepared for that though, since most people wish to move to international when it appears.

A player turns blue to white when they are level 30. A player turns white to pink if they attack another player. A player turns to red if they kill another player. A player who is pink or red can be killed by any white or pink player, and they will stay white or pink. A player who is red can not be buffed, healed, or target of any helpful spell. Red named players are considered the same as a monster by a non-blue, and as an object by blue named characters. Recovery from this status takes a long time, and some NPCs will attack you if you are Pink/Red. All NPCs have a boss-quantity of stats, including ridiculously high hp and the ability to one-hit players if they are aggressive to red names. Unless you are still in a battle state or are a red seen by a 'guard' npc in a town, being in a safe zone prevents pking of all types.

It is HIGHLY unadvised to use weapons your skills are not built for. Skills are a primary source of damage, and passive proficiency quickly become a key element for dealing damage. Due to the distribution of stats and skills, you can not undo choices either. Even as a warrior, your stat distribution (as well as skill) determine which of your class-specific weapons you should be using, and as such is not changed later. No matter what you do, a Werefox with dual swords suck because they can't do the key level of their skills, including healing. This does bring to an exception though, you can change your classes ARMOR on rare occasions (a werefox with light armor can be made to be quite good, but they must resolve to using a magic weapon). The most advisable action is to stick with what belongs to you. As an archer, you do get 3 types of weapons to work with anyways.

There is two types of damage in this game, physical and magical. Magical damage is then after split into elementals (Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, Metal). For example, all magic weapons say they add physical and magical damage. This means that if you hit a monster without skills with such a weapon, only the physical damage is considered. If a werefox hits a monster as a fox with any skill, the physical damage is added to the overall damage. Otherwise, every skill uses the magic damage of the weapon and then adds that damage to additional elemental-specific damage (or sometimes physical damage for priest). Spell casters all have this in common. The three Fighter classes instead rely only on the physical damage of their weapon (archer does have a few skills which add elemental damage to the physical damage they deal). It doesn't matter if a spell or skill is ranged or melee, that does not change the type of damage that is caused. The only change is how far from the target you are to deal the damage. (The only exception is that Agi increases bow/crossbow/sling damage. Str, while not adding as much as Agi, does also increase damage because you are dealing physical damage.) As an Archer, you are doing normal attacks that do physical damage. I don't think there is anything which cares about the range of your attack by nature more then just limiting it.

There are a few NPCs scattered around which talk about wars being over the weekend. The PW.cc forums has the most information regarding this at the moment, but I expect once our members have more experience with it, it will move here as well.

Ask more in the future if so you wish.

I believe you have a choice to turn on or turn off pk. I remember reading about it and testing it out. It's near your map, there's this shield thingy. You click on it. Once you change it, you can't change it for like a nother 24 hour or soemthing like that.

I definatly want to expereience the guild battles. I'll be grinding harecore once OB comes out.

Are there any links that people know of with info on the guild battles?

pls do remember that if your name is red which means you have killed another player and the player comes back at you and kills you, some equipped items from you will drop. not to mention the enhanced exp loss in dying from mobs..

<.< It says you lose 0% for dieing from a player though.

>.> Still, the equipment drop is something worth being concerned about.

yes it does but if your cash shop is up and running the "body double" prevents it from dropping.. it also negates all exp loss from dying due to mobs.. on exp loss matters.. get a yu ling (priest) to level his ressurection spell to lvl 10.. the exp loss from dying would just be 0.3 % loss as compared to 3% loss.. oh and exp loss is determined from your cultivation level..
