... Tried that First Jump quest given by the Elder. Since the time I couldn't even make Ms Croft land on that ledge properly, I knew my platform-type gaming days were over.

So ... any ideas how I'm supposed to manage the Jumping quest in five minutes?

Very easy.
Are you using a laptop?

Hm... How do i put his in words o.o
I wonder if you can get the "whatever its called/material" before you go to him... nah; you lose it nevermind XD

There's really no "ideas" that I can give just... pray no one is using it before you.
I had to do it maybe 2 times before i was able to complete it.
Pretty sad IMO.

This is what I did:
Used my mouse to move around o.o Helps a lot when wanting to land on a specific place.. once again IMO XD
Which explains how I completed it.
Good luck?

*Always use ASDW keys to move when jumping. I use them for nearly all movement.
*If your character is female, any male who can fly can fly you to the box.
*There is always a trick spot for reaching the box, look for it without doing the quest, then go get the quest.

trick is if your toon is a female.. just snuggle with a 30+ male..
hard way is do not double jump until you have reached the apex of your first jump and make sure that on your double jump, you do the twirl..

Second jump at the apex, and then do a whirl?

That sounds ... tough.

Okay, I'll give it a try ... I'm assuming I am to attempt this from the rooftop nearest to the side of that bridge above the gate?

Get to the highest point. For me the highest I could get was ontop of the two tall statue-thingos on the roof of the section in front of where the chest is. Front one being the closer section if you're facing the entrance to the town. Then, aim to jump for the edge of the arched bridge, i.e. the lowest area. Face the camera towards this area, then press 'w', your character would go forward to where you faced the camera. It might take a few tries but jump once, then one you're at the zenith of the jump, use the double jump to gain maximum height. If you get it right, you should kinda glitch through the rails and onto the bridge.

I'm gonna have this page open while I try this!

Which race did you pick aaerdan?

Human, of course ... the best race for newbies :D

The name is ChangYuen, based on a character I played in my days of pen-and-paper RPG (using the watered-down RoleMaster game system - MERPS (which stands for Middle-earth Role-playing System). Memorable for taking down a troll with one slash of a two-handed sword (gotta love the critical hit system) at level one.

I thought I had a screenshot of this quest but guess not. You run south towards the gate On The left side, facing southward, there is a rock thingy. But to get to that side, I jumped onto something on the right side of the gate structure until I got to the top. Then I work my way across to the left side again towards that rock structure. Jump all the way to the top. Then at the top of that rock structure, facing the gate, I move slowly towards, it still on the rock. At the very edge of the rock facing the gate, I jump, then did another jump onto the roof. Not on the platform holding the chest but the roof thingy.

Then jump down the roof onto the chest.

LOL...yea it sucks explaining it.

>.> People can help you with it as well for Open Beta. Ask any human at that time.

Sno's idea didn't work ... acrobatics using a laptop is beyond me :(

I'll try Tor's idea...

Don't assume you'll land on the little grey pieces that are sticking out, aim for the bulk of the roof, you can make it usign Tor's method, just be sure you don't have the quest when you do so, once you figure it out, go get the quest. I did this last night, so it does work, it just takes quite a bit of luck. Unfortunately there's nothing nearby that'll help out other than possibly getting someone to help out, and the rock formation.

Didn't get to try the tips offered - thanks, everyone! - last night, so I can't report on my success or failure as yet.

Just letting you know, doing a somersault in midair doesn't really give you a boost in any way. It'll be better just to leave it alone so you don't get distracted with more tasks. How I did it was to jump onto the building directly south of the south gate, where there are two little metal things sticking up from the roof. Facing towards the bridge with the box on it, I jumped onto the metal thing on the right side, and from there jumped onto the right side of the bridge. I didn't use the rock formation thing at all :S
