View Full Version : I noticed so many PW haters
People that haven't play the game, already hates it. Funny thing is, they all say "another korean grind fest" LOL? Can you really rate this game after 5 lvls?

I cant even finish all my quests without leveling and getting 3-4 more quests. More like a quest fiesta if you ask me.
Those people were being stupid. Its not korean its chinese the worlds leader in computerized accessories.

Some people just fear new things and don't want to get distracted from the next 5 levels in their own MMORPG. When they learn that all their friends have quit and are playing Perfect World, they will have new things to say. >.x

Its mainly the WoW addicts who think this game is a rip-off of it. They're not far from the truth, but hey, at least I'm not having to feed my addiction with money.

its a grindfest after 70 levels..
however you are given an alternative via dsq (dragon seeking quest)
actually the grind kind of starts earlier than 70, just at 70 it gets worse ^^; there will still be quests, but they give so little as compared to the amount needed to level. At around 40, its where it begins.

Dizzy is one of the people who will have 3mil when thing start, and thus learned such.
Meh, there still seems to always be things to do, which is what matters.

i only got to lvl 29 before i got bored of the 'grind'. i still consider doing a billion quests who all ask you to do boring stuff like "kill 30 of this" "kill 20 more of that" etc etc. thats still grinding. at least wow had some interesting quests every so often..

whenerver i get bored.. i just don't grind.. simple as that i just make sure i get my daily stone quest (which starts at 30), envoy which starts at 60, and brooch quest which starts at 70.. now at 72, i get 20% progress everyday without grinding.. oh and when you reach youyr 40ies make sure you are in a clan already (you'll need one)

Hopefully we can have guild things settled before 20.
MMORPGs are still seeming ritualistic regarding leveling and quests. I wouldn't expect more then we are getting when it comes to tradition. If one wants a game without this requirement, one could turn to FPS or RTS.

After all the buildup that it's getting, I'll be really pissed if it doesn't live up to my expectations. Hopefully the large amount of quests will help to liven things up a bit. :|

<.< I think people are just getting upset waiting. Don't worry about it. Considering the translations required, it's no surprise.

I just play games for the quests.. I really HATE grinding.. grindfest games makes me sad because it shows that the Dev's lost imagination and just say "oh ok guys. no more ideas for fun quests? ok then it's all grinding from this point"
Everyone who knows me know I level slower than 1 level per month or maybe more

If people call this a grind fest then they have not played MapleStory/Rappelz/ later lvls of flyff (110+). It takes atleast 1 day to go from 0% at lvl 80 to 50% with double exp also(mind you thats a 10+ hour grind with out talking or anything).

The second last level to last level in PWO takes 3 years of 24/7 grinding. That's the calculation which was done earlier.
However, it is high because people are not expected to really do much more then level 99.

Depends on your server. Servers have max levels between 108 to 118 so far. Since MY-EN has not declared this yet, I have no idea what we have.

I thought it was 105?

thats what I thought to.
But how is it different for different server?
Thats just unfair if you level 108 on oracle and 118 on dragon server.

No, changes by location. MY-EN servers will all have the same peek, but the Japan ones might have something different.

Other versions of the game that have been out for a very long time have had the level limit increased. Remember it takes around 2 years to hit 105 and I mean 2 years of playing hardcore. :o
There is so much to do time will pass by pretty fast, people have been playing 5+ years now on the original servers and once you see some of the stuff in the later patches like build your own homes you will see how.
On the original topic, I was shown PW about 12 months ago by a asian friend who said he could get me a english patch for it. Like others I instantly dismissed it as another grindfest without even downloading the game and it wasn't till July when I found it myself that I downloaded and was amazed.
The best thing to do is link to community sites like this which give details on everything you can do etc. Only then will they relize why this game stands out from the rest.
Nice nice.
lol...still can't believe the 2 year grind though. That's just crazy. Never even heard of anything like that before though.

The game expects you to stop leveling at about level 100 (there is no equipment after that either), yet for people that like pushing on to the ends of eternity, you can always make progress. I find it smart.
