PWO-MY-EN Having strong thoughts regarding 'Hoist' changes

Apparently, even the staff are taking careful consideration to permitting a non-intimate hoist-all. To explain this further, this concept is to allow a guy or girl to carry a guy or girl. The current way characters are carried would only remain for guys carrying girls, a new visual would be used for other combinations, and all other combinations would have 'intimate' disabled (by the sounds of it, even if a girl is carrying a guy, no intimate, due to the concept that the girl would be too pre-occupied with the guy's weight). The concept of 'piggyback' is being presented as the most plausable way to do this (which I still like to call 'fireman carry', but that's not the word others are using).

One of the problems with this is regarding the were classes. How does hoists regarding transformed characters work using this? It would be difficult to carry that large tiger, no matter what you do, and how does the fox carry anyone? Is it really conceivable having a werebeast (non-transformed or transformed) be hoisted by a girl at all? Such is causing a belief that, if this were implemented, the only way to hoist while in fox form is by a guy, and werebeasts can not be hoisted by other classes.

The issue is, while the staff are supporting the idea, such changes must be approved on all servers, so the main developers must be contacted regarding this opinion and such must be approved at their head office. This is a movement towards that option though, and we will have to wait and see how/if this works out.

Many people have expressed interests in intimacy/marriage beyond the standard guy/girl method, but this seems to be strongly opposed due to cultural reasons at their head office. Server-side Programing concepts have to be retained on all servers due to the licensing agreement, so this is not expected to ever change.

Personally, I'm liking the way this is going, and hope we get the fireman carry. The idea of 'carrying fallen allies' like this doesn't seem to be approved of yet, no carrying people to priests for revive, yet helping friends gain vp/fp should still pass if this is approved. Any other comments?

It sounds quite interesting. I found that even though I was being carried (And still able to initiate the hoist, this was done in the first shot of me and SatoshiX) I was saddened because I couldn't hold HIM, which is like a bias toward the male gender, even though males DO tend to be stronger. Still, if they do this, then the question you posed come up. Indeed, I cannot see a female Elf Priest carrying a large male werebeast. (untrasnformed to say the least)
The thought of havign cuddling relationships with similar gender doesn't interest me, since the norm is still male<->female. Until that changes, I say just keep it that way. Even though I DO support gays, and lesbians, I can't say the same for online games. After all, who's to say that it's not just a pervert who wants to see to girls kiss?

well it would look a bit strange if, say, a girl elf archer walks around carrying a 2 times bigger werebeast...
I think every class should be able to carry eachother, girl or guy, except werebeasts. Those should only be able to hoist, and only be hoisted by another werebeast (transformed or not). A werefox should be able to be hoisted in the transformed condition, since foxes is not as big as tigers...
But this is only my opinion, and its pretty much based on the laws of physics^^

Sexism is one of the strongest causes for this change. Many believe that there is sufficient grounds for such a change to be necessary to avoid stereotyping as well as other issues. Many just want to make sure it stays realistic. (I guess a beast could carry a beast, but no one has that idea of yet. Could also make it too complicated for scripts/imagery.) I do agree though that it is perhaps best to avoid letting such new hoist combinations access the 'intimate' option, the same as not changing marriage either. People can use un-programmed methods if they have such interests, but any other combinations could be consider abusable, let alone conflict with their root development culture.

A Fox form girl can already be hoisted by a guy, but they are so small that even a light and small girl looks like she would crush the fox if the fox tried to carry her.

It'd be very weird if I could carry a were beast 10X bigger than me when i'm just a skinny preist Or a fox in fox form carrying someone else. Realisticly I'd be crushed if I ever tried a stunt like that due to the weight. I could drag Kres around places if they let girls carry guys.

They could also just make a option for girls and instead of using hoist, you could have a diffrent option..but I guess that would be too complicated for them to code in. I think for now that should just make it so girls can carry guys even if it'll look weird on other classes. If the expierement fails they can always take it out. >_>;

As I said, so far PW-MY agrees with the ideas posted in the first post. They have to pass the ideas on to the development staff. We may or may not see results, but things look good so far.

yea, good idea, though if it was to be implemented my guess it wont be anytime soon. Its lots of trouble going through the main devs, then releasing the update to the various versions of the game.
