All Purpose Temporary Anime Thread

While I'm lobbying for my anime sub-forum, I just want a place to talk nerd about my anime. I just now finished Nagasarete Airantou. It was meh. Typical harem anime to me really. 'cept with a badass chicken in the last episode.

Recently finished Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and its become my new love for now until something more awesome comes along. I'm keeping tabs on Clannad and Shakugan no Shana 2. Both are starting out pretty well.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, a GAINAX film (I normally don't like GAINAX much. A lot of their animes have blotched endings to be honest), is purely epic. Starting from a boy who lives everyday to drill holes to man who shakes the universe. Epic anime starring "Simon the Driller". Favorite character is Kamina, as most people probably feel the same.

And my last regards to anyone who's seen Gurren Lagann

Are you the person who made the thread on FW? I saw this thread in the movie section. I think as the forum gets more and more active we might get an anime subforum. I haven't been keeping up with my anime lately.

Frankly, I want to get back to seeing more from the anime series Berserk. My friend has read almost all the mangas which is where the story continues out but I'd love to see the high impact action put to anime. Guts is such a warrior! It's some of the best action you can get from an anime. :lol:

In the anime, the ending got blotched. The manga was good up until a point, buts it just way to dragged out. Berserk is a very nice action anime though. Much blood :P

And yeah, I'm pretty much the anime enthusiast on every forum Tor owns. Which is pretty much this and FW

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Bleach is also closely related to Naruto.

Im also watching Rozen Maiden but other than the ones above I don't like the rest.

Ranma 1/2 has no real ending is the problem. Even the manga has a faulty ending. Rumiko (Also creator of Inuyasha) blows at most of her manga creations. By most I mean all.

Rurouni Kenshin is a great one as well. But the anime starts faltering after the Kyoto Arc (Shishio). The manga had one more arc that FAR SURPASSED any other arc. The anime doesn't show this though. Its the "Revenge" arc, closely related to the Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal OVA of Rurouni Kenshin. But its goes more in depth, and gives a real, definite, clear ending to the series.

I can help you look for those 3-4 volumes if you like after watching the anime

I was an InuYasha addict at a time, lol. Though the anime got a bit boring after a while. So I switched to mangas. Now I'm reading Fruits Basket because I hear they left out a lot of stuff in the anime. And the anime only has about 26 episodes, anyway. There's this site with hundreds of mangas you can read online- so I'll look up a couple of others later.

I checked to see how much anime i've watched = over 90 maybe even over 100 @_@.
I had a lot of time on my hands. I don't watch as much of it anymore.

I prefer watching real people and dramas xDD But ~~ I recently got a thing for Mecha so ... old habits have returned xD

I've probably seen 300+ animes. 500+ if you include OVAs and Movies, and 800+ if you count mangas read ~_~

The manga that is. Not so much the anime. The problem with the anime is that it's dumbed down a lot. But the manga is awesome.
Hum also some of my favorites are: Alice 19th, Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden, Zettai Kareshi, ImaDoki! (yes, I'm a big Yuu Watase fan), Tsubasa Chronicle and Tokyo Mew Mew.

Dubbed Naruto is like the worst. 4kids is the worst thing to happen to anime... ever.

Hajime no Ippo, Fighting Spirit: Ippo, about a boy who gets teased and picked on, gets saved by a boxer. Said boxer challenges him to a leaf grabbing challenge. Ippo works hard and passes. As time goes on Ippo fits in with his new gym and makes a rival (quite a few later in the series too).

My favorite beside Ippo was Mashiba :P

If you enjoy Naruto, there are a plethora of other animes that far surpass Naruto. Naruto is a great gateway anime, but when you start getting into others, you'll see how Naruto pales compared to others. Dragged out storyline, minimal character development, overly long battles, etc.

Same goes with Inuyasha. I have to say, Inuyasha is by far the worst anime I've bothered to watch =/

So true. I absolutely adored Naruto at start, same with InuYasha, but then things began to repeat and a single battle would last 5 episodes. Got sick of it. Wonder if there's anything out there that's a bit more "spiced up"? Oh- I also watched DN Angel at a time- but they switched things around so much that I simply began to hate it.

Blood+ isn't very good ._. Its a sub-par storyline. Bleach is alright as a gateway anime, but it soon dwadles compared to others

Hey guys- what about anime movies? Howl's Moving Castle was really good- as well as Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. I can't forget My Neighbour Totoro, either- it was so sweet. I think the first time I watched it was when I was 10, though I'm not sure. I just adore anime movies- they seem to have a lot more spirit than the regular cartoon makings.

The Girl who Leapt Through Time was amazing for a romance one. It was epic. But when you think anime movies, Miyazaki jumps to head real quick. Ponyo on the Cliff is his next big project. Can't wait

The Melancholy of Haruhi suzumiya(Haven't gone past episode 10)

and of course, lots and lots of re-runs of Lucky star episodes 12, 14, 21 and 22. XD

not really... IMO me thinks the one responsible for everything in school days episode 12 is Sekai. Makoto became a complete jerk after cheating on Kotonoha, but that's because of Sekai. in short, Sekai was the root of all this. and Kotonoha is the innocent girl here...

*shrug* If you view the entire anime, you can see both point of views of the girls. Sekai loved Makoto before he even liked Kotohana. So I see Sekais point of view on many things. Plus I liked her the most in the anime anyway >_>

The root of everything was the guy who thinks with his penis instead of his heart.

The ending was justice ^_^

Although poor Sekai and Kotohana. They should have skipped off together holding hands while singing praise the lord for his fate.

In the end Makoto was an asshole and got what was comming for him, but I still ended up crying for like an hour >.<
