Well. As we all know, England lost the Rugby World Cup Final. But beforehand, I wrote up a report about the prices of tickets, and how people should be checking the dates, and it was accepted by Sky news as a report. :D

Here is the report:

Well, Ive checked eBay and I can still see hundreds of auctions for these tickets. most of them are now pickup ones where you will pickup the tickets from a random french person in Paris before the game. Risky, especially at these insane prices, but it seems the fans are not bothered by this.

It seems that these people who are bidding are not realising some things. Lets look at the most famous auction for example. It was featured on the Sky News website yesterday for selling the tickets for £25,000 for 2.

Here is a link to the auction:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-Rugby-World-C ... dZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-x-Rugby-World-Cup-Final-Tickets-Purple-Category_W0QQitemZ230181456957QQihZ013QQcategoryZ1 306QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Now, we can see the auction is for tickets for the game on 20th October. Quote:

Rugby World Cup Finals in Paris on the Saturday 20th October 2007.

The match - ENGLAND v SOUTH AFRICA / ARGENTINA

It seems that 29 offers have also been made.

But.. It seems they forgot one vital part of the auction.

End time: 20 hours 27 mins (21-Oct-07 10:37:27 BST)

This auction ends a day after the Rugby World Cup game. People will be purchasing tickets that they will recieve after the game. People are making more and more offers, and nobody has bought out the auction yet.

Lets quote what the auctioneer actually said:

NOTE TO ALL BIDDERS - WE WOULD RATHER SEE THE FINAL OURSELVES, BUT IF SOME INSANE OFFER WERE TO BE MADE BY A WILLING BUYER, WE WOULD CONSIDER OURSELVES WILLING SELLERS.

Now.. does this mean £25,000 as an insane amount? Any amount lower may not be classed as "insane" meaning that this auctioneer here would not be willing to trade these tickets over. He would happily wait for the auction to end, and then mail the tickets to the person who made the highest offer.

Bad eh? Well.. he hasn't actually broken any ebay rules. He just hasn't been entirely accurate. Lets hope someone isn't going to run out of thousands of £ for some tickets to a game they will only be able to see in Paris from the local pub.

Rugby is fun. :)

They didn't kill England. England scored that try and his leg went up at the right time. The idiots in the desk couldnt accept that and we lost the game. It was because of that, that England lost it's spirit to continue playing it its full potential, and caused a lot of fouls to occur giving South Africa pretty much Free kicks galore over the pole.
