I'm completely new to this game, and hence utterly lost...
I'd like to be a WF, but have no idea on skill builds nor attributes :( From what I've read, I'm guessing xx INT/Min STR for attributes, but what about my skills? :ugeek:
Are there any Guides anyone can point me towards for this class? O_O?
And please, be gentle on me with the PW jargon xD I've only played but for a mere 30minutes, I dont know your leetspeek yet >_>
Thank you to anyone in advance ^^

There are like, 10 different builds for werefoxes. xD Since werefoxes have both a magic skill tree and a melee skill tree, there are a lot of available options for them. One of the main skills that a werefox centers around is fox form change - this adds a huge % boost to defence and accuracy. Here are a few of the more basic guidelines.
There are three types of armor in this game: magical, light, and heavy. From left to right, magical defense goes from highest to lowest, and physical defense goes from lowest to highest.
If you choose to use magical armor, there are several sub options for you. You can go pure INT, which is minimum str for your armor/weapon and all the rest of your stat points into INT, which maximizes your magical damage. This is a good build if you're just going to be leveling up/killing monsters. It's not all that great in pvp though, as you die very fast to any ranged physical attack class -> spear warriors, priests or archers. You'll also fare badly against any other mage class that uses the following build: Int/con. This is a build that focuses on maximizing survivability. The stat distribution for this build is minimum str for armor/weapons, minimum int for armor/weapons, and the rest of the points split between con and int as you please. The less con you have, the closer you are to a pure int build, but con is what keeps you from suffering one hit KO's from physical attack classes, as well as ensuring spell casters can't kill you - even though they do low damage against you with robes, your low hp still makes it possible for you to die as a full int. Third option is for you to focus a little more on str. Buy adding more to str, you can carry around a lower grade set of heavy armor to give you an extra defense boost against melee classes, at the cost of some hp/attack power. No matter what kind of build you choose for int, you will be using the most current weapon you can for your level.
If you choose to use light armor, there are 2 different builds here as well. You can either stat to have minimum stats for the most current armor and weapons, which leaves you with very little con as you will only just barely meet stat requirements. Second alternative is to drop your int, use a lower grade magic weapon and pump con instead. Both of these builds are meant to take advantage of fox form's level 3 120% physical defense add on, which nearly puts you at the same defense as a heavy armor warrior while still leaving you with decent magic defense. If you go with the former of these two builds, you will also be able to take advantage of the magic skill tree, which isn't really an option if you choose the latter, since you'll be using a lesser grade weapon. Basically, you're choosing damage over survivability if you choose the first build, and vice versa for the second. Both of these builds will require leveling of the melee tree, as you'll get owned a lot in fights against casters in robes if you don't level your physical skills.
Lastly, heavy armor. Heavy armor werefoxes have amazing physical defense, and because of fox form's 120%, can have defense nearly double that of even a fully buffed warrior. Unfortunately, it suffers from the same weakness as any other heavy armor warrior, which is that magic attacks HURT. Because of this, the only real option is to stick with a low level magic weapon so that you can pump constitution to keep high hp. However, if you can find a lot of items that +stats or -% equipment requirements, it is possible to achieve a dual armor build - that is, you wear a mix and match of heavy armor and robes - that affords better all around defenses than light armor does. Again though, pouring stats to let you wear armor like that removes from your hp pool, and you may not be able to wear a weapon up to date with your level. Heavy werefoxes will depend entirely on their melee tree, and unless you picked a build to use both magical robes and heavy armor, you will ignore your magic tree entirely.
It's really all up to your play style as to what kind of build you want to be. Personally, I didn't want to give up either the melee or the magical tree, so I play the light armor build that allows me to use the most current weapon for my level. I compensate for low con by adding hp stones, but of course it's really not enough to keep up with say, a real int/con build, which I'm fine with, since I can kill them fast with skills from my melee tree =p

/wall of text.
The most helpfull wall of text I've seen yet ^^ Krescens post in the Stat build (http://www.1perfectworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1371) thread went right over my head...
I'll have to take a few to determine which build I prefer, but thank you very much for providing all the info I would need to do so :D
Just two more questions though....
I'm slightly [extremely, doubtfully, completely] lost on the skill system... Apparently you dont distribute points? I can only guess I have to buy skills... So, is it technically possible to just buy every skill I want to as high a level I want, assuming I have enough money? Also, is there a trainer in [cant remember first towns name]?
Lastly... pets. Assuming I go for a mostly INT build [which it seems I may], I cant take a hit for ****... What would a recommended pet be to tank? How would I get an egg? Is it just a random drop? [No clue how I got my first one :x]

To learn skills, you go to the Master of Werefox in City of the Vanished, Ancient Dragon City, Dream Searching Port or Thousand Stream City. Once you're at the master, click Learn skills to spend "Skill points" and money to level up your skills. The higher level the skill, the more skill points and money it costs to upgrade. You get skill points everytime you kill a mob and everytime you complete a quest. There are a few other ways to get skillpoints like badges, but don't worry about those yet =p.
A must have for every werefox is a golem - you can get this at level 17, in the northernmost part of the map near ground of logging - just northeast of city of ethersword. It's definitely worth teleporting there and taming a golem - it has the highest physical defense, fairly high magic defense, high hp, and high attack. Although it's not very good for pvp, since it runs really slowly, it's useful for dungeons and tanking in general.
Once you're level 7, you'll receive a quest from the Pet Master in city of vanished. Once you complete that quest, you can learn the pet taming skill from her, as well as the pet healing and pet revive skills. Note that these also cost skill points/money. With the pet taming skill, you can tame pets - they have to be your level or lower, and should have their hp lowered as far as possible without actually killing them - kinda like pokemon :o

Which of these two would be better off if I was to both PvM and PvP? I guessing the first of the two in order to be able to fight casters correct?
If so, could you give me a little more insight for the first one? Using points to keep up with the most current armour/weapon I understand... but what would I pool the rest of them into? Con or Int? Or both at a certain ratio?
Thank you in advance :)

Well, if you do the first one, you won't have any extra stats to worry about what to put them into. Minimum int/agi/str for weapon/armor leaves you with just 2 extra stat points total, assuming you're not using any other items that +stats. The first of the two, because you can still use decently strong magic attacks, is better pvm and pvp against melees, while the second is better in pvp against casters.

aeika, am going to tell u this as my remedy to pvp because i am a wf.i dueled an ep in the guild same lvl and she had a hard time defeating me and i didnt even use my intersoul switch.thats a skill that will get u off ur heels when u learn it as a wf. my wf build is kinda hybrid as i have a total of 40 con thats y i do not die so quickly to physical attacks and the rest of my points go into str for armour and int. i wear magical armour. being a wf is fun and nice ask hhj and carmine they are the best wfs on the forums. another thing is we chose 3 different builds for our wfs.
