Tohno Takaki and Shinohara Akari are two classmates in an elementary school. During their time together they have become close friends. Their relationship is tested when Akari transfers to another city because of her parents' jobs. Both of them struggle to keep their friendship alive as time and distance slowly pulls them apart. When Takaki finds out that he is moving farther away, he decides to visit Akari one last time.

The movie is a collection of three stories; the first episode, Oukashou, shows the day of their reunion. The next episode, Cosmonaut, follows the story about Takaki after the reunion takes place from the viewpoint of another person. great movie imo. The animation is stunning, and the plot is very moving and realistic. you guys should really check it out.

Oooh! I love this movie. it made me cry D= My friend showed it to me and I fell in love. I've been looking for it on dvd but so far no success. Oh well. I absolutely adore the theme song too, One more time, one more chance. It's an awesome song and fits the movie really well. This is definately one of the greatest anime movies I've seen

i think i have the movie in HD. im especially in with the animation. every scene looks like a painting, its just soo beautiful. and the plot is surprisngly realistic. how it deals with relationships that fade overtime because of distance.

ah, lucky! But yes the animation is a work of art. I love how they did the sakura trees, which also somewhat makes me sad because I fail at drawing trees. The plot was very well exacuted, using different points of view like that. Very creative. But the ending/last episode can be a little confusing at first. I definately didn't get it the first time around. How they used the song 'One more time, one more chance' was very well done as well in the last episode. Yes, it was very well thought out.
