Can WFs use weapons other than magic ones and still have effective damage? For instance, could they use a sword and put their points in strength, and do damage similar to a WR or WB with the same amount of str using the same weapon? This is excluding skills of course.

Yeah, you'd then have to have a "Battle fox" build then.

Scroll down to the bottom of the first post and there's a whole bunch of different builds. Counting on what you put your stats into you should then be able to pick whatever weapon is available to you + highest psy. damage. You can use any weapon as long as the stat requirements meet yours. Doesn't matter what race/class you are.

So no damage reduction at all melee-wise? Cool. One more question though. Can I switch to fox form with a non-magic weapon equipped?
And if not, can I switch to fox form then equip a sword or double swords?
Oh, and can I use the fox skills with non-fist weapons equipped, and if I have a fist/claw weapon equipped, does it get a bonus from the melee mastery skill that increases punching damage?
Oops, that was kinda 4 questions. But oh well...
EDIT: I just looked at that build, and it said to have 66 int, but if I'm going to use a normal weapon instead of a magic weapon, wouldn't that be worthless?

The 66 int is probably so that you have enough mp for your skills.
You can switch into fox form with a non-magic weapon equppied. You can use fox form with swords and/or double swords. I don't know about fist/claw but I would assume you can. You can always try it out if you have some spare $.
I'm not sure about there being any damage reduction. I highly doubt it since there are a lot of battle foxes and if they have seperate skills for them, meaning they had the intention of having battle type foxes, there shouldn't be any damage reduction :3 You should be pwning. You'll also probably be able to do a good with/in arena/pk better psy.def. Except in arena there's some kind of damage reduction (for all classes/races). Also I know that golems (a pet) don't have any reduction in arena, I don't know if other pets differ.

Honestly why battle fox when you have pets to help you? Not that pets are low in defense stats and damage anyways:confused:

Why not? They have pretty cool skills and not everyone wants to be a mage-type WF. I have somewhat of a pure Int werefox and it really sucks when I want to do questing alone and find out I can't because I'm quite likey going to die in the process. You get high psy.def and psy.atk, a lot of hp and you can still have a pet tanker. So it's like insurance sometimes :3

o.o
You can only switch into fox form with a magic weapon. You can't switch with a melee weapon. If you want to confirm it, hover your mouse over the fox transform skill and you'll see it says a "magic weapon" or "barehanded" is required.

Im considering heavy armor WF as my next project. Wanna see how that works out for me. But i dont think i want to go beyond lvl60. My WF friends tell me it gets boring after that :/ plus, i like being in parties : D
