i've been using poison fang for about 20 levels on and off
and honestly i don't notice any additional damage
i haven't done any in depth testing
i've asked some other people who play wb and they seem to think the same thing
does anyone have anything good to say about poison fang?

You're using it while in Tiger form, right?
It'll make more of a noticeable difference if you're fighting a heavy armor class I think, because mobs generally have about the same resistance to both types of attacks and the variation in battle damage would make it harder to notice without actually recording a long series of hits.

so i should really only worry about it in pvp
i guess i'd better start doing some more pvp, to justify those points i spent on it

actually, the difference can be seen when you are fighting a defense enhanced physical attack monster. However the difference is pretty low unless the monster is heavily ailed with status defects like armor reduction etc.

hey another question about poison fang
does the priest/cleric's magic damage buff do anything for poison fang?

No, since poison fang converts the poison damage from your equipment p.atk, not your m.atk.

this the root of my question
matk and elemental attack
matk is always elemental but elemental is not always magic?

For characters, elemental most of the time are magic, but cases like archers' thunder skills will not be enhanced by increasing metal damage stones since its fixed.
For monsters, the element only decides the weakness and resistance of the monster against magic attacks, their attacks are not necessary magic. However, you always know that poison skills are wood damage, and slow skills are mostly water.

matk is always elemental but elemental is not always magic?
No, elemental will always be classified as magic and vice versa. However, in the case of poison fang, your physical attack is converted into magic damage, so it'll be drawing from your physical attack numbers, not your magic attack ones, and will deal magic damage.
This is the same with archers - their elemental attacks are converted from their physical attack, not their m.atk, but that still means it will deal magic damage, not phys damage. Phys attack stones/rings would benefit lightning attacks, but mag attack/elemental ones won't. So the difference is only which type of attack the skill draws from. Elemental attacks will still always deal magic damage.
