Question On Tanking Pets

I have a question about tanking pets. I'm currently using a golem pet to tank for me. I was wondering about when i should start looking into getting a different pet to be my tank. Also, which pet should i get? Suggestions? And finally, about how often should you replace your tanking pet? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Golem will do until you're rich enough to buy a hercules. You may also want to look into getting a frog or a dodo bear to tank magic bosses.
