This class is very cool and smexy. There weapons are awesome because they poof up in an instant in a spirit sort of way. They can fly and yet attack ground monsters from the air. This class is not very cost efficiant and it is not very strong but there skills are pretty good and because of the range they take less damage. I found a guide written about archers in chinese but I can not translate. All I know is that archers are not good at PvP but they can stun and cause elemental damage with their skills.

They can kill quickly from afar, but don't fare so well fighting up close. It's hard leveling up, for they're alone most of the time, and most groups don't like to include the archers on dungeon quests, summoner's pets can make safer pulls than the archer.

forgot to say they suck close range lol =P. Thanks for pointing that out.

I have found out that its much more cost and level efficiant to go with quest bows. Quest bows are bows given from the low level quests you get. They are free and yet much stronger than store bought.

so more or less

Pros:

can kill quick from afar
cool and smexy xD
fly yet attack at gound level enemies
weapons poof up in an instant in a spirit sort of way

Cons:

Not cost efficient
hard to level
dont get invited into parties for dungeon quests
mostly soloists
suck at close range

hmmm.... damn >.<

so according to the info, Yu Mangs are really disadvantaged? with no group and not very strong in pvp, as well as slow lvling (because of no party) this means Yu Mangs must be pretty rare on the game...

Wow, they can fly AND shoot at the ground? So how do ground monsters hit them? o_O

Damages to ground mobs when flying is reduced by half. Archers are popular in factions. Even though they don't get invited to dungeon quests often, they're perfect for assassinating players of rival factions. They can kill someone with 1 or 2 hits, but if the person being attacked doesn't die after that first few hits, the archer pretty much loses the chance of winning.

I forgot to include what meangirl said that damage is reduced by half. Factions are cool to be in but I think its a real time waster.

Also from what I could tell the mob's regain HP if you try and kill them from in the air. Maybe it was my imagination! I don't find archers expensive, I just make all my own gear. Usuaully it turns out stronger than NPC one's too. Also I give mine STR so if any mob comes in close, change to duel hammers and whack em!

They do regain hp but its barely anything and its slow. They only reason archers need STR is to be able to weild thenext weapon/armor. Jester you sound like you played this game. Welcome aboard.

The archer class suppose to be powerful. 1 or 2 hit people in wars. That's good =D

So basically, useful in wars, but no really useful in dungeon quests.

Nanakon would be happy hearing this xD

I love the seemingly balanced classes in this game :3

Hi I'm new here just want to share something, I play in the Philippines and currently have a Lvl. 50 Yu Mang, been playing for 2 months and yeah this role is kinda hard to level up, since you are not the first choice when creating a party for dungeon raids and boss quest but I'll stick to it since the role has still so many good feats. One this role has the highest Critical attack rate (as far as I know) in game, currently have 10% crit rate and do 3 critical out of 8 hits sometimes it goes 3-4 shots critical straight! I know someone with 18% and crit rate using Bows and rings with crit rate attributes. Highest critical rate in game I've seen was 24K and that was months ago (not my char :D currently does 10K dmg in mobs 5lvls lower and 6K+ on mobs same level as my char. ) . About cost efficiency.... I make my own Bows/Xbows, armors and accessories so I dont think its that costly in terms of gears. BTW you can also make special arrows/bullets with higher attack attributes and has additional crit...But I have to say skills for this role eats huge amount of MP.
one advice if want this role might as well use light armors and invest in Metal Family skill....

KILL IT! AND KILL IT QUICK!

I found I couldnt kill the mobs before the reached me, which was annoying because they hit hard on my poo poo armour.

I'm having quite a bit of trouble with this class. The STR requirement for armors is very unnecessary, because I need those points in either AGI or CON. I normally have to rely on parties to complete quests, melee mobs hurt bad, even the ranged mobs are difficult. Currently I'm using NPC clothing as I'm not quite sure how to craft my own armors yet. The only good thing I can see is my damage output. Highest crit was a bit more than 1k at level 18 from the thunder arrow skill.

Crafting doesn't yield much products for a while anyways, you just need early practice with it so that you CAN do it later. The best you can get is 2 or 3 star equips.

By level 20, most people are party reliant for one reason or another, with the exception of werefox. A werefox just suffers after level 30 as any who do not need a party to level are usually tinfoil in pvp/pk. They also have issues with agro-ing mobs.

Parties are almost a requirement in this game, get use to it. Going solo is really hard.

Ah. Guess I'm not doing anything wrong then.

I'm level 16 (only played one day) and absolutely in love with my archer. She's hard as hell to level, especially in the delay, but me and my clan came here from Lineage 2 because we heard there's good PVP and looking for a new game... And if archer is the crappy-pve awesome-pvp class, then it sounds like my coleader and I made the right choice.

Archers, Warriors, Mages, Priests, and Werebeasts all have their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to PVP. Some classes are good in certain situations, yet poor in others.

Werefox is completely ineffective in all PVP situations.

I've seen a couple movies of werefoxes; they've gotta be packing light armor, though.

Krescen

Light Armor just means Mages and Priests own them faster. They still have insufficient HP and have damage shared with their pet to keep up. Such is quite difficult to control during PVP sessions.

In fact, the best help a WF can get is to use Fox-Form. That at least gives them a few PVP-related skills. It still does not fix their HP problem.

Foxes are best used against characters which anyone else could kill anyways, as in lower level ones. Makes it a bit depressing. <.<

1 or 2 hits of normal attack or skills?

Solstice
02-20-2008, 05:40 AM
Ive 1 hit mobs that are life-risking attacks, and weakened.
Ive hit 4k crits with normal attacks when using fury.
Archers pack a punch. Currently atm level 47 or 48 I forgot.
Just wait until you are in TW or when you decide to AOE party.
In TW you are one of the most versatile and in AOE party you are the nuker (which is fun watching your damage hit above 10k crit and such)
As an archer you can kill mages, priest, and mage armor WF in a few hits. I should know since I almost accidentally killed a white named level 60+ legacy member randomly and I didnt want red name. in 3 shots (1 collagination to freeze her, and 2 normal set off her heiro) Remember I was level 47 or 48. Archers own!

Shit. I'm so gonna start an archer once I get bored of WF.
